Abstract
Abstract
Sexual health is recognized by major international organizations as a key dimension of individual well-being and a universally acknowledged human right. This systematic review examines the state of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in Europe, with a focus on Italy, investigating current educational models and the training of health and education professionals. Through a review of three databases (PubMed, ERIC, EBSCO), 30 articles published between 2020 and 2025 were selected. The analysis identi!ed six key themes, including variability in educational approaches, lack of intersectional perspectives, content gaps, and training challenges. The findings highlight the need for structured, integrated, and culturally relevant programs, along with multisectoral engagement. The review stresses the urgency of coherent and inclusive public policies grounded in scientific evidence and aimed at promoting awareness, well-being, and rights. The results offer insights for the development of more equitable, comprehensi-ve, and transformative educational and training practices.
