Andrea Lupi

Abstract

Abstract

Although schools are often perceived as entities that function without genuine interaction with society, since the emergence of progressive education, it has been highlighted that curricular processes cannot occur independently of the community in which the school is located. From this arises the great educational utility of creating an integrated system of social and environmental educational resources in support to schools. Learning Archipelago in Biella, involving a growing number of community actors: schools, NGO, the world of research and business, is generating a responsible social transformation that starts from the school by overcoming its bureaucratic organization and isolated nature to provide children and teachers access to meaningful educational experiences that improve teaching and learning processes in many ways.
