Artistic quality as an educational and inclusive tool for subjects with mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s
Abstract
Abstract
This paper tries to define what the artistic quality is. In other words, what features of a work of art might favour educational and inclusive processes. We carried out through Charon and Bergson’s thought the theoretical path of our work. Moreover, we have tried to intercept the artistic quality through a research concerning the effects produced on memories evoked with musical autobiography in subjects suffering from mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s. After listening to music, the data obtained from quali/quantitative analysis, have captured a variation in the autobiographical memories of the participants by examining three types of memories: personal semantics, episodic and self-defining memories. The achieved results showed a significant increase in memories with a higher sense/emotional and autonoetic content which are predictive of those metamorphoses of meaning in autobiographical narratives that are essential to start inclusive processes.
