I GOVERNI DELLA NUOVA POVERTÀ IN EUROPA: SOCIOGENESI COMPARATE/ The governments of new poverty in Europe: Comparative sociogenesis
Abstract
This article examines the government of “new poverty” in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Italy, in the context of the post-Fordist labour market and the crisis of the welfare state. Focusing on activation policies and minimum income schemes, it shows how social protection has been increasingly structured around work and the principle of less eligibility. A comparative perspective highlights both convergences and divergences in national sociogenesis, revealing how activation measures function not only as labour market instruments but as moral and symbolic government dispositifs.
