Abstract

Il largo ed incisivo impiego delle applicazioni tecnologiche, nei settori più diversi dell’agire umano, produce effetti impattanti e pervasivi sul soggetto e sulle situazioni esistenziali di cui è portatore, e ciò impone l’esigenza di rimodulare la centralità della persona, quale punto di riferimento delle new tecnologies. La questione si colora di ulteriori profili problematici se si è al cospetto di tecnologie di human enhancement che consentono all’uomo di superare i propri limiti fisico-biologici, migliorando le proprie capacità percettive, motorie e cognitive, con l’obiettivo di ottenere la salute perfetta, una migliore funzionalità e il buon andamento del corpo-macchina. In questa prospettiva occorre indagare se la direzione percorsa dall’innovazione scientifica e tecnologica sia in linea con quella “evolutiva” dell’uomo, al fine di verificare se le regole e i principi desumibili dall’unitario sistema ordinamentale possano offrire adeguate risposte alle problematiche connesse alla persona umana e alla sua personalità.

The wide-ranging and incisive use of technological applications, in the most diverse sectors of human action, produces impacting and pervasive effects on the subject and on the existential situations of which he or she is the bearer, and this imposes the need to remodel the centrality of the person, as the point of reference of the new technologies.

The issue is coloured by further problematic profiles if we are in the presence of human enhancement technologies that allow man to overcome his physical-biological limits, improving his perceptive, motor and cognitive abilities, with the aim of achieving perfect health, better functionality and the smooth running of the body-machine.

In this perspective, it is necessary to investigate whether the direction taken by scientific and technological innovation is in line with the ‘evolutionary’ direction of man, in order to verify whether the rules and principles deducible from the unitary system of regulations can offer adequate answers to the problems connected to the human person and his personality.
