INDUSTRIA 4.0 E LAVORO IMPRODUTTIVO NELLA MANIFATTURA/INDUSTRY 4.0 AND IMPRODUCTIVE WORK IN MANUFACTURING
Abstract
Industry 4.0 (I4.0) can be stated as a frame within the process of industrial automation using digital technologies. Political and academic debate paints it as an autopoietic development of technological transformation and mainly suggests the way to get the maximum benefits.
This research aims to put it into the capitalism crisis context to understand what this technological paradigm implies about social production relations. Thus, according to Marxist categories, the relationship between the development of technologies and the rate of profit will be highlighted.
Moreover, it will be paid specific attention to the concept of productive and unproductive labour. Examining some key phases in manufacturing production – design and prototyping, machine, process, and quality monitoring – this paper tries to investigate how I4.0 affect the way contemporary capitalism runs value production, accumulation and realization.
Keywords:
Industry 4.0; Unproductive Labour; Value.
