Abstract

La presente indagine si pone come obiettivo di analizzare l’impatto ambientale delle criptovalute nell’ambito delle iniziative avviate in ambito europeo. Dopo aver delineato un excursus storico delle criptovalute ed illustrato i principali interventi normativi adottati in materia dal legislatore italiano, verrà illustrata la nuova disciplina europea concernente il mercato delle cripto-attività, ovvero il Regolamento MiCA.

The aim of this survey is to analyse the environmental impact of cryptocurrencies as part of the initiatives launched in Europe. After outlining a historical excursus of cryptocurrencies and illustrating the main regulatory interventions adopted on the subject by the Italian legislator, the new European regulation concerning the crypto-asset market, namely the MiCA Regulation, will be illustrated.
