Spengler e Goethe

Abstract

Spengler’s relationship with Goethe refers to the primacy of intuition, while the relationship to Nietzsche implies the domination of the concept. The dichotomy of concept and intuition reproduces precisely the nexus of Kultur-Zivilisation. In the sense that Goethe is the tutelary deity of Kultur, while Nietzsche presides over the conceptual and intellectual alchemies of Zivilization. But what is the real object of Spengler’s work? It is here, on the effective centrality of the theme of Zivilization, that Nietzsche takes the place of Goethe.
