Ingeborg Bachmann bei Giorgio de Chirico. Zum Verhältnis von Gedicht, Bild und Text

Arturo Larcati

Abstract

The essay seeks to outline and discuss affinities and dissimilarities between Giorgio De Chirico’s novel Monsieur Dudron and Bachmann’s poem Nord und Süd, the translation of which was found among De Chirico annotations. It explores the emblematic melancholy atmosphere and the different depictions of north-south- contrast in both the poem and the novel, thus illustrating two paradigmatic ways of approaching classicism after 1945.
